3 weeks lockdown and we issued 27 food vouchers and 35 food parcels. We have inventoried the needs.
We have donated food for our partners, Sakhisizwe, Sistahood and some of our old friends in the township.
Our soup kitchen at Hout Bay Primary School is in full swing: this week we cooked food for 2120 children … … and that’s just the beginning.
Thank you for your generous donations. It is only through and with you that it is possible to achieve this. The situation in the township is getting more and more serious, and it is not illness, but poverty and hunger that are the greatest concerns for us at the moment.
A 1.5 meter distance society is forming: it is good to see that the children in the queue keep a distance of 1.5 meters, they bring their own food bowls and that Sindi and her cooking team always have new ideas to keep everyone under control. We always explain why we have to be careful. We keep the children calm and comfort them.
